Podcasts
Ways podcasts can be used in the library:
Students can use podcasts to review books or discuss hot topics, like book banning. We can also share ideas with classroom teachers on how they can use podcasts in the classroom. Students can debate political topics present research create how to videos and share information on a variety of topics. As librarians we can use podcasts to promote library programs and review policies and procedures.
Challenges: Podcasts can take quite a while to produce an edit, especially for students who are uncomfortable with technology. Some students may also find And it cup is a whole Google duck it difficult to acquire all the necessary equipment or to creatively present content on a regular basis.
Caveats: Podcasts may discourage students from reading if they can find the information in a podcast where they can listen rather than read. Be sure that the podcast you use and create support the content in a meaningful manner and are not just for entertainment purposes and contain appropriate content and language.
